LAKERS SPORTS CLUB 17th ANNUAL GOLF OUTING & AWARDS LUNCHEON
Dear Laker Fan:
It is no coincidence that year after year, MLHS athletic programs thrive and its student-athletes reap the rewards of their efforts. Their success is rooted in commitment, hard work and teamwork. That same winning formula applies to the Lakers Sports Club and its generous supporters. The hard work and dedication of the Laker Sports Club and Laker Fans like you help contribute to the accomplishments of our boys and girls athletic teams.
Through the benevolence and charity of our supporters in Mountain Lakes, Boonton Township and beyond, we have continuously been able to support many of the needs of our athletic programs. That support is solely dependent on our fundraising efforts. The LSC Golf Outing is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please help us make it a success!
The 17th Annual Lakers Sports Club Golf Outing is scheduled for Friday, June 7, 2013, with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. at the Knoll West Country Club in Parsippany, NJ. A fun round of golf with friends and supporters of LSC will be followed by a fabulous lunch buffet, cocktails, awards ceremony, and a scholarship presentation to (4) deserving athletes. We greatly appreciate everyone who contributed to last year’s success but like our student-athletes, we cannot rest on our laurels. We need your financial support to continue to fulfill the Club’s mission.
As most of you know, the Laker Sports Club was founded in 1965 by former MLHS principal and football coach, Doug Wilkins. There have been countless number of men and women who have carried on the Club’s mission to provide financial support and services across all of the high school athletic programs. The Club also recognizes individual and team achievements through its scholarship, banner and plaque programs. Over the last decade, the Laker Sports Club has donated over $1,000,000 to the school’s athletic programs! This past year’s grants included:
- Softball/Baseball – Shed, pathways, brick pavers, and batting cage & bullpen improvements
- Wrestling – Body composition analyzer & refractometer (hydration measuring tool)
- Boys/Girls Basketball/All Sports – High quality speaker system for the gym
- Football/All Sports – Conditioning sleds, power systems kettle balls
- Boys/Girls Cross Country – Stop watches
- Boys/Girls Track & Field – Set of plyo boxes
- Hockey – Away team jerseys
*We could not have done these things or showcase a state of the art TURF FIELD without your
generous support!
Please help us by taking advantage of the many sponsorship, donation, and playing opportunities offered in the attached golf brochure. We also encourage you to pass this on to any potential sponsor(s) or player(s) you may know. It’s a great way to see old friends, meet new ones, and support our student-athletes while having some fun. All sponsors will have a sign posted on the course with their individual name or company name advertising their support.
Without significant underwriting of the costs of the outing through Sponsors, the outing simply will not generate the revenue required to help support our athletic programs. Please consider a Sponsorship.
